The agenda of the 2019 Forum reflects current environmental trends and address the issue of sustainable development for the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Sea Action Plan and its update, as well as contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

Project BEST is organizing an expert seminar (round table session) on 21 March at 14-17.30 with the topic Improved management of industrial waste waters in the Baltic Sea Region with focus on Russia. You are warmly welcomed to join the expert seminar, which is held at the EXPOFORUM Convention-and-exhibition centre, hall B6-B8, Peterburgskoye sh. 64/1. The seminar focuses on the management of industrial waste waters in Russia by discussing legislation and its practical implementation. The seminar will also highlight bottlenecks as well as show-case good examples of solutions and cooperation practices among municipal waste water treatment plants and the industry for improved management Baltic Sea Region wide. Contributors are e.g. several WWTPs from the Leningrad oblast and Kaliningrad region, Russian national environmental authorities, sectoral agencies from Kaliningrad region, HELCOM, City of Helsinki and John Nurminen Foundation.
