Waste water treatment plant in Doruchow, Poland needs modernization and more capacity. With the help of Interreg funding through BEST project they are investing in a separate treatment line for the sewage from several meat industry facilities in the area. They are also intending to test innovative new phosphorus filtering media, Polonite, which is formed from highly porous calcium silicate mineral. Polonite not only removes phosphorus from waste water, but also enables full phosphorus recovery.
